Great shot Hugo, the long exposure has created a nice streaking flow in the clouds. I would have maybe moved a little over to the right so that the building was more less obstructed by the rocks, and not as centered.

Fantastic shot Hugo. This brings back memories. I used to live 200 meters away from this spot, and my very first waterscape shots were done on these rocks. This is where I learned photography and my first long exposure was here too.
Then I'd go and have hot chocolate in the twins cafe behind this beach :D

Very nice, love the twenty minute exposure choice. Nice. How did you control noise?
Reply
:iconarqhugo:
arqhugo Featured By Owner Feb 4, 2010
Thanks a lot!! No noise control, the Canon 5D is really great about noise control. In a large format you can see some noise, specially on shadows, but nothing too much at all.
You can use one photoshop plugin, called Noise Ninja, it's really good.

That is a great shot.

My sister and I are going to be in Europe in mid June. Anywhere that is a place we must see?

Our stay is kind off open ended so we are currently trying to find places to go, then we will make a final "schedule". Most for the most part we plan on using the train, sleeping on the train till we get to some good places to backpack/camp/hostels/couch surf.

Ah... ok, i see
If you come to Portugal you have to visit Lisbon, and take a tour to Belém, Bairro Alto. If you have time you can go to Sintra, near Lisbon. You can go to Portimão on south of portugal and take a large boat and travel to Madeira Island, for about 170 euro. It's a +/- 22 hour travel, but you visit a fantastic place!! Lots of nature, very good food, one amazing place!!!
The other countries on Europe that i have already been, where Spain in the city Barcelona, AMAZING city, Italy in Rome and all the south of Italy and it´s really beautiful.
Finally Greece... oh...what a country!!! The Islands are just STUNNING!!! The best place that i've ever been!

Yes the sky has done a wonderful job moving! The tones from light purple to white to blue are very beautiful.

10 stops, wow, I have to get one of those, and then I have to visit this beautiful place! :D

How many stops does the ND110 cut?

20 minutes and nothing moves!

Great great shot!

The ND 110 is a 10 stop filter. Let me correct what you said, the only things that moves are the flag and sky :D
Cheers

what do you do for 20 mins?
Reply
:iconarqhugo:
arqhugo Featured By Owner Feb 3, 2010
Hi,
In 20 minutes I pick very cold, and I pray that the picture goes well. And as if those 20 minutes were not enough, when I have the photo I have to wait another 20 minutes to the camera process the picture.
So the true time of the photograph is 40 minutes ... :D

Cheers and thanks for passing by!!
